Marvin Fansher, 91, of Pontiac died at 6:20 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 11, 2014) at Evenglow Lodge, Pontiac.

He was born May 4, 1922 in Edmond, Oklahoma, a son of Raymond A. and Bernice E. Brown Fansher. He married Juanita B. Cooper on June 5, 1949 in Delia, Kansas. She preceded him in death Jan. 17, 2013. He was also preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Forrest Fansher and one sister, Frances Adams.

He is survived by his children, David (Catherine) Fansher, and Debra (John) Roeschley; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two brothers, Farland (Nancy) Fansher and Stanley Fansher and one sister, Virginia Fansher.

He graduated with a bachelor's degree in agriculture from Kansas State University, where he was on the dairy judging team and the wrestling team. He served our country in the U.S. Navy during World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater. He had worked as the farm manager for Rosewood Farms in Roselle for 33 years. He was an accomplished dairyman, winning many show and production awards at the state and national level.
