He was born on May 17, 1936, at Delight, the son of Daward Garner and Gladys Watson Garner. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Barbara Dian Garner and his parents.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran, a long distance truck driver for many years and had a great love for farming and taking care of his livestock. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him, but he will forever be in their hearts.

He is survived by two sons, Reford Daward Garner, Jr. of Little Rock and Jimmy Russell Garner, Sr. of Sherwood; two daughters, Margaret Refe Davis and her husband, Rick, of Little Rock and Barbara Diane Armstrong of Quitman; nine grandchildren, Brittany Nicholle Garner, Jimmy Russell Garner, Jr., Jesse Dean Garner, Alexa Renea Garner, Lavada Miller, Barbara Fowler, Nathan Davis, Troy Curtis and Lewis Curtis; six great-grandchildren, John Evan Curtis, Max Chandler Curtis, Jude Curtis, Lucy Jane Curtis, Kelsie Curtis and Adyson Curtis; the mother of his children, Margret Garner of Little Rock; a special son-in-law, Gary L. Armstrong of El Paso; one brother, Bobby Garner of Bonnerdale; two sisters, Joan Wright and her husband, Floyd, of Texarkana and Nancy Bonner of Glenwood; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of wonderful friends.
