OBITUARY Iron County Reporter Jan 30 2002 "Obituaries: Evelyn Abel" with photo
IRON RIVER-Evelyn Abel, 84, died Jan. 22 at the Iron River Care Center.
She was born March 24, 1917 in Peshtigo, Wis., the daughter of the late Walter and Ada Kniess. She grew up in Peshtigo where she graduated from high school and then attended college, earning a teaching certificate in education. She taught physical education in Antigo, Wis. and had been a resident of the Iron River area for the past 20 years. She enjoyed watching birds. She was preceded in death by a brother Floyd Nylund and a sister Lillian Moss.
She is survived by two nieces, three nephews and several great-nieces and nephews.
There was no visitation.
A memorial service was held Jan. 24 at the Iron River Care Center with the Rev. Douglas Cederberg, pastor of the Grace Covenant Church in Iron River, officiating.
Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery.
Langenberg Funeral Home-Stambaugh Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
