Marvin Ahlbrecht, 91, of Gibbon died Sunday, January 12, 2014 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, January 16 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon with Pastor Michael Gorte officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Wednesday and from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Gibbon and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Thursday.

Marvin is survived by his sons, Marvin Ahlbrecht, Jr. of Gibbon, Ted Ahlbrecht of Fairfax, Terry (Bonnie) Ahlbrecht of Gibbon, Tom (Julie) Ahlbrecht of Gibbon, Todd (Marnie) Ahlbrecht of Gibbon; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Lois (Warren) Schwecke; sister-in-law, Marilyn Ahlbrecht; special friend, Mae Ohland and families; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Myrtle "Mutz" Ahlbrecht on May 1, 1990; an infant daughter; sister, Elva Lunderborg; brother, Charlie Ahlbrecht; brother-in-law, Abe Lunderborg.

Marvin Henry Ahlbrecht was born on May 9, 1922 to Henry and Ernestine (Luehring) Ahlbrecht in Gaylord. He was united in marriage to Myrtle Sell on December 31, 1944 in St. Paul. Marvin enjoyed farming his whole life, and fishing with family and friends. He loved spending time farming with his sons. He also enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Marvin was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon.
