She was born in Chicago in 1920 and lived there until moving to Wildwood in 1956. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church in Gurnee.
She is survived by her sons, Larry (Mary) O'Brien of Cottonwood, Ariz., and Kevin (Clausell) O'Brien of Las Vegas; a brother, Don (Peggy) Andriuzzo of Bayonet Point, Fla.; step-children, Elbert (Janet) Scales of Gurnee, Sandy (Rod) Holmes of Singer Island, Fla., Sue (Jim) Davison of Richland Center, Wis., and Terry Scales of Mundelein; and her grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.
Madelynn was preceded in death by her husbands, John O'Brien in 1967 and Elbert F. Scales Sr. in 1996; as well as her mother and father, Nicholas and Jennie Andriuzzo; and her brother, Rocco "Buddy" Andriuzzo.
Friends of the family visited May 8 and 9 at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium in Grayslake.
Interment followed at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville.
