Charles L. Deveney

Charles L. Deveney, 67, of 125 N. Queen St., who was a retired mechanic, died Tuesday morning at Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Alverta E. (Schrum) Deveney.
The service will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Wm. J. Workinger Funeral Home Inc., 849 E. Market St. Burial will be in Barren's Cemetery. Viewing will be 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Deveney was born in York County, the son of the late Clarence and Lillian (Warner) Deveney.
He was a retired mechanic and was employed 20 years prior to his retirement from Danskin Inc. He was a U.S. veteran of World War II.
He is survived by a daughter, Nancy L. Blauser, York; three granddaughters, three great-granddaughters; a brother, Sterling Deveney, York; and two sisters, Alma Melhorn, York, and Charlotte Krebs, Aptos, Calif.
Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Benjamin T. Griffin, pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ.
