Gladys Strovers, 95, of Grinnell and formerly of Kellogg, died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2006, at the Mayflower Home Health Care Center in Grinnell.

The daughter of J. Frank and Mabel Shelton Clay, she was born Nov. 20, 1910, in Sheridan Township in Poweshiek County. She was raised in Grinnell and received her education in the Grinnell School District.

On April 1, 1930, she married Frank R. Strovers in Winterset. The couple made their home in Kellogg prior to moving to the Grinnell area in 1937. She was a homemaker and later was employed at DeLong Sportswear and also did some housekeeping at the Mayflower Home. She was a member of the Church of Christ and Kellogg Historical Society.

Survivors include one son, Clifford L. Strovers of Grinnell; two daughters, Lela Brush of Westfield, Ind., and Martha Noe of Greeley, Colo.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband.
