This cemetery is on private property in Crosby, MS, the former Crosby Lumber Company. Remaining are approximately 18 sunken areas that appear to be gravesites. Of the two headstones remaining, one is broken, but still showed the birth/death dates. The name was on the part that was missing. It was clearly an infant, as the dates on the stone are b. July 11, 1899 d. July 1, 1900 with inscription "Sleep in Jesus". Obviously the dates on the broken headstone do not match little Clarence Brown. However, the assumption is made that he could possibly have been buried here. His parents, Cecil Morgan Brown and Cynthia Elizabeth "Lizzie" Sullivan Brown were living in Wilkinson County, close to this cemetery at this time according to the U. S. Federal Census. On Page 279 of "The Journal of Wilkinson County History, Volume I, March 1990", a description of this cemetery is as follows: CRUM/C.M. BROWN CEMETERY: This cemetery was located East of H. Street in Crosby, Ms., Sec. 31, T4N, R4E, on a hill overlooking the site of the old Saw Mill. According to Mrs. Dave Carter [deceased], of Woodville, the following are known to have been buried here: CECIL BROWN and his WIFE, Two Sons of Cecil Brown, WILLIAM COBB (whose headstone is now in the Crosby Methodist Church Cemetery), JANE CRUM, wife of John Crum, IRVIN COBB, small son of Florence Cobb, and many others unknown to Mrs. Carter.
