He was employed as relief pharmacist at Viroqua when he was stricken on Friday while at work. He had been making his home in this city with his sisters and brother since his retirement about three years ago. He was born and raised in this city, and was graduated from the pharmacy course at the University of Wisconsin. He then worked at the Henry Drug store here for six years before purchasing a drug store in Matiston which he operated for 20 years before his retirement,
He is survived by four sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Della Spraetz, Madison; Mrs. Lydia Rail, Rippley, Iowa; Miss Vera, Miss Edith and Arnold, at home; and Walter F. of Madison. His parents, two sisters and two brothers, preceded him in death. One brother, Dr. Fred Vorlop of Randolph, died suddenly of a heart attack five weeks ago.
The funeral was held on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Bartlett Funeral Home here with Dr. Otto J. Wilke of Madison, officiating. Burial was in Reedsburg. Masonic services were conducted by the Mauston Masonic lodge of which he was a member.
