Anna was a long-time resident of Dorchester until she moved to 1000 Southern Artery.
She graduated from St. Peter and Paul High School in South Boston.
From an early age, Anna was a passionate sports fan. Disconsolate when the Boston Braves left town, she adopted the Red Sox and later the Patriots.
As her children got older, Anna returned to work and retired from the US Census Bureau.
Anna and her husband, Frank, enjoyed many trips together to Ireland, Italy and across this country to visit with friends and family. Anna was an avid bridge player and was eager to teach and share her love of the game with all. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and novels. Anna enjoyed her time with those she loved and she will be sadly missed. She was also active in the Girl Scout program and led the St. Anns troop Marion Medal program.
Anna was predeceased by Francis Brown, her husband of 45 years.
Beloved mother of Anne Brown of Quincy, Mary Bigelow and her husband James of Berkley, Joseph Brown and his wife Mary of West Roxbury, Ellen Finnegan and her husband Richard of Plymouth and Francis "Franna" Brown and his wife Mary of Philadelphia.
Loving sister of Kathleen Meehan of Weymouth formerly of Southern Artery. Caring Sister-in-law of Beatrice Brown of South Boston and Eleanor Murphy and her husband Ed of California.
Devoted Nana of 11 and great Nana of 3.
Funeral Mass in St. Ann's Parish, Dorchester at 10 AM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
