AUBURNDALE — Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church here for Joe A. Jones, 70, of route 1, Auburndale, who died at 7:45 a.m. today at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, where he had been a patient since March 28.
The Rev. Richard Muehl, pastor, will officiate and burial will be made in Hillside cemetery, Marshfield.
Visitations may be made at the Hansen Chapel in Marshfield from 2 p.m. Sunday until 11 a.m. Monday and then at the church.
Mr. Jones was born Aug. 22, 1900 in Fond du Lac County, and received his education there, and in Rosendale, Wis.
He came to the town of Rock area with his parents in 1916, and was married to Minnie Mews, April 18, 1923, in Auburndale. The couple operated a farm in the town of Rock until 1939, when they moved to their present farm in the town of Auburndale, where they had since made their home. He had been a farmer and livestock dealer for many years.
Mr. Jones was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Auburndale, and had served for 12 years as treasurer for the school board in District 3.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Cecil J. Jones, Marshfield; a daughter, Mrs. Floyd (Audrey) Wichman, Spencer, and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
