A verdict that Mrs. Robert Pierson and Aston [Ester G.] Durrance, slain Saturday night during a dance at Sutherland, met their deaths at the hands of Carter Pierson, was returned at Clearwater by a coroner's jury, following the exhumation of the bodies. The same calibre bullet that killed Durrance was found in the body of the woman, the jury found. County Judge Bird issued the order for disinterring the bodies, because no inquest had been held before the burial. A telegram was received by Sheriff Lindsey, of Pinellas county, from Kentucky, ordering him to hold Pierson, saying that the man was wanted in Jackson county, Kentucky, on the charge of murder.
