Miss Grubbs was born in Barnwell County, the daughter of late Fred D. and Sarah Boylston Grubbs. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Business and Professional Women's Club, and the Othleen Oglesby Sunday School Class. She was a seed technician with the agriculture department for 18 years.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Frieda Grubbs (C. J.) Workman.
