Daughter of Clarence Lawrence and Roberta "Birty" (Pierce) Blanchard. Her parents moved from Ohio to Charleroi in the early 1900's; her father worked for the coal mines. After her mother died, her father lived with her and her husband (1930 census) until he remarried, to Anna, a few years later.

Emma Hazel, who went by her middle name, married Robert Noll Worthington (Sr) on December 20, 1915 at the Washington Avenue Presbyterian Church in Charleroi.

She was the mother of three: Robert Noll (Jr), Edna, and Claire Milton. Early in their marriage, they lived first in Akron, Ohio, before returning to Charleroi. They bought a home in Fallowfield township and apparently had an apple orchard.

The local newspaper, "The Charleroi Mail" has many items about her involvement in social and church organizaions before her untimely demise.
