Richard "Dick" C. Ayers, 83, of Belton, MO passed away January 8, 2014. Funeral services will be 2PM Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Cullen Funeral Home with visitation 1-2PM. Burial will be in Belton Cemetery. Dick was born January 1, 1931 in La Plata, Missouri, the son of Ernest and Alice Wright Ayers. On August 17, 1951 he married the love of his life, Betty (Conner) Ayers in Kirksville, Missouri. They were married for 59 years when Betty passed away in 2010. Dick was also preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Sammie Ayers of Kirksville.
He is survived by his daughters, Patti Ayers and Penny Ray and husband, Harold; two grandchildren, Brandon Ray and Megan Agnor (William); three great grandchildren, Cayden and Easton Agnor and Liam Ray.
Dick was a lifelong member of the Loyal Order of Moose in Kirksville, Missouri, Lodge # 1751 and was an Army veteran serving during the Korean War and served in the National Guard.. He retired from Reno Construction Company after working road construction for over 40 years.
