Ruth L. Wingfield 96 of Owensboro passed away on January 6, 2014 at Owensboro Center. She was born in Daviess County on July 19, 1917 to the late William E. and Maud McCamish Basham. She had formerly worked at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital.
She was a member of Harvest Baptist Church and enjoyed crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvey Wingfield in 1977; two sons Earl Wingfield and William Wingfield; two daughters Mary McElwain and Helen Isom.
Surviving are her two daughters, Alta M. Reed and Lorene Apman both of Owensboro, Ky.; twenty-five grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:00pm. Friday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 7:00pm. Thursday and 10:00 to 1:00pm. Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Yelvington Cemetery.
