Farmer, Dies
Allen Boatright, 84, retired farmer who made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Nellie Fox, at 515 West Poplar street, Harrisburg, died in the Harrisburg hospital at 12:25 p.m. Friday. he was born in Saline county May 5. 1876 and was the youngest of 12 children of the late John and Martha Ann Boatright. He had been in failing health for the past two years.
In addition to his daughter, with whom he made his home, he is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Bessie Harper, RFD 1, Harrisburg, and his son, lloyd Boatright, Harrisburg, 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death nine years ago by his wife, Katherine, by his daughter Beulah and his infant son. He is also survived by his brothers Mack Boatright, Marion and Leonard Boatright, Peoria.
The body is in the care of Harrisburg funeral home and will be in state at the home of his granddaughter, Mrs. Harold Randolph, at the north edge of Carrier Mills on the blacktop road. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Bankston church west of Harrisburg with the Rev. Alvey Daily officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
