Mary Elizabeth Sizemore, 87, of Kirksville, MO, passed away Wednesday (August 4, 2010) at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville., MO.

The daughter of Eugene and Elnora (Kirkpatrick) Asher, she was born March 12, 1923 in Geary Co., KS. She was united in marriage to Alfred Bina Sizemore on January 5, 1942 and to this union they were blessed with twelve children: Janice Sizemore (Yadon) Snyder of Kirksville, MO, Alfred Sizemore and wife Linda of Moline, IL, Rex Sizemore and wife Cenie of La Plata, MO, Linda Orr and husband Bruce of Kennawick, WA, Lonnie Sizemore and wife Alice of Worthington, MO, Iris Johnson of Kirksville, MO, Dennis Sizemore and wife Joyce of Lakehills, TX, Richard Sizemore and wife Sandy of Brashear, MO, Elizabeth Kessel of Kirksville, MO, Roger Sizemore and wife Brenda of Greentop, MO, John Sizemore of Kirksville, MO and Teresa Sizemore and husband David of Kirksville. She was also blessed with thirty-five grandchildren; fifty-one great-grandchildren and numerous great great-grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Alfred on June 15, 1969; two sons-in-law, Jerry O. Johnson and Robert E. Kessel; one grandson, Eric Lawrence Kimmel; three brothers, Bob Bud, and Gene Asher and two sisters, Violet Alt and Fern Moran.

Mary received her education in the Kirksville public schools. Her life was her family and friends. She also enjoyed her pets, gardening, quilting and her flowers.

Public visitation will be held after 2:00 p.m. Sunday (August 8, 2010) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, MO with Pastor Eugene Pinkerton officiating. Interment will follow the service at Morelock Cemetery, northwest of Novinger, MO.

Pallbearers will be Houston Buck, Timothy Sizemore, Brandon Kessel and Richard Sizemore. Honorary bearers will be Zackary Kimmel, Roger Sizemore and Joe Yadon.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Mary Sizemore Memorial Fund.
