"Christian Daub died at his home in this place on Friday, Oct. 12th, aged 46 years. He was taken sick with sciatic rheumatism several months ago and other complications followed which made his suffering very severe. Careful nursing lengthened his lease of life but it was evident quite early in his illness that he could not recover. The funeral services were held at St. John's church Sunday afternoon and had a very large attendance. The deceased was a member of Reul Post, G. A. R., and that organization turned out in a body to attend the services."
(obituary in the Delphos Herald)
Go your way to the land of the Ancestors,
where they wait for you with open arms, there on the edge between this world and the next.
See; there they stand.
Ancestral spirits, welcome this one
to the place where we all must go.
