John Patrick Whalen, resident of Marion six years, died Thursday morning in a Cedar Rapids hospital. Born at Caledonia Jan 8 1883, he was a retired roadmaster of the Milwaukee railroad.
Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. P. J. Rachor of Des Moines, Mrs. Henry Fitzpatrick of Madison, Wis., and Mrs., Carl Hurm of Lansing, and a brother, William J. Whalen of Chicago.
Mr. Whalen was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
The body is at the Brady mortuary. Funeral announcement will be made later.
