Mrs. George Avery, 81, of 607 S. Franklin St., lifelong Janesville resident, died Friday in Mercy Hospital where she had been a patient the past several days.
The former Nellie Schumacher was born here June 30, 1890, and was married to Mr. Avery in 1909. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church.
Mrs. Avery was predeceased by her husband in 1967 [1957], and two sons, Curtis, longtime member of the fire department, and Lyle.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Leo Peterson, with whom she made her home; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Neal Schumacher, Janesville.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday in Wolfgram Funeral Home and at 10 in the church, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
