JANESVILLE - Carl Bartel, age 93, of 1120 Bingham, died Tues., April 12, 1994 at Meadow Park Health Care Center, Clinton. He was born Dec. 2, 1900, in Germany, the son of August and Augusta (Schlefelbein) Bartel. A Janesville area resident most all of his life, he married Marie M. Kettle on Oct. 15, 1924, in Janesville. He had been employed at GMAD and retired from Borg Equipment, Janesville, in 1965. He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, and an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by the wife; a sister, Emily Klemp of Janesville; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Robert and William Bartel.
Funeral services will be held Thurs., April 13, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 at the Schneider Funeral Home.
