Frances E. Coffin, 86, of 802 S. Sixth St., died at 1:10 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2004, at Jefferson County Hospital.
The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church, with the Rev. Stephen Page officiating. Burial will be in Pittsburg Cemetery in Pittsburg.
A Christian Wake Service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at Raymond Funeral Home, followed by family visitation from 7-8 p.m.
Memorials have been established to the Fairfield Senior Citizen Center, the Nelson Nursing Home activity fund and Mass stipends at St. Mary Catholic Church.
Mrs. Coffin was born Nov. 25, 1917, at Highland Center, the daughter of Glenn H. and Gertrude Aby Crowe. She married Creighton Beggs Dec. 27, 1940; he died Nov. 17, 1964. She married T. Earl Coffin Aug. 24, 1984.
She was a resident of Jefferson County most of her life. She attended Bonnett school near Birmingham. A 30-year employee at Universal Producing Company, she retired in 1980.
Mrs. Coffin was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society.
She had been a volunteer at the Fairfield Senior Citizen Center for many years.
Survivors include her husband; one stepdaughter, Mary Coffin and husband Darrell Hemm of Birmingham; one stepgrandson; and two brothers, Warren Crowe of Shreveport, La., and Robert Crowe of Peoria, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband; and four brothers, Alvin, Raymond, Chester and Albert Crowe.

She was born Nov. 25, 1917 to Glenn H. and Gertrude Aby Crowe at Highland Center. She married Creighton Beggs on Dec. 27, 1940. He preceded her in death Nov. 17, 1964. She married T. Earl Coffin Aug. 24, 1984.
She attended Bonnett school near Birmingham and had been a resident of Jefferson County most of her life. She had been employed with Universal Producing Company, Fairfield retiring in 1980 after 30 years. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society, and had been a volunteer at the Fairfield Senior Citizen Center for many years.
Surviving are her husband Earl; stepdaughter, Mary Coffin of Birmingham; a step grandson; and two brothers, Warren Crowe of Shreveport, La. and Robert Crowe of Peoria, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Creighton; her parents; sister, Hazel Garrett; and four brothers, Alvin, Raymond, Chester and Albert Crowe.
