Rema Louise GRAFF, née HOWARD, was born on August 22, 1926 in Joplin, Missouri and was a lifetime area resident. She was the second of three daughters born to Arthur Gene and Madeline Angel (CUPP) HOWARD. Rema's siblings were Betty, her older sister, and Carlene, her younger sister.

She attended Duenweg High School and graduated in 1943.

At age 19, Rema married Morris C GRAFF on July 6, 1946 in Joplin, Jasper County, Missouri. They were married for 61 years and raised a family of four daughters and one son. Morris preceded her in death April 10, 2008. They are survived by their 5 children: Jeanne, Richard, Deborah, Carol, and Tina; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Rema was employed as a sales clerk at the Wal-Mart store located east of 15th Street and Rangeline Road in Joplin for 10 years, retiring in 1987. She had previously assisted her husband in his business, Graff Television Sales and Service. Prior to her marriage, she had been employed by the Joplin Public Schools as a telephone operator; following her marriage she was employed at East Junior High as Principal L. B. HAILEY's secretary.
