HADWIN, Ray YEMASSEE - Mr. Marvin Ray Hadwin, affectionately known to many as "Uncle Ray" and "Grandaddy", 71, of 13536 Yemassee Highway, Yemassee, died Friday evening, September 30, 2005 at his residence. Funeral services will be held three o'clock Sunday afternoon, October 2, 2005 from the graveside in Sand Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Allen McMillan officiating. Mr. Hadwin was born November 27, 1933 in Manning and was a son of the late Allen Vonlee Hadwin and Maude Marie Nettles Hadwin. He was a carpenter by trade and was a mason and shriner. He will always be remembered for centering his life around his loving family, being a great husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Surviving are: his wife of fifty-three years, Mrs. Velma Louise King Hadwin; his children, Gene Prevatt of Murfreesboro ,Tennessee, Rindy Brunson of Brunswick, Georgia, Betty Rush of Cummings, Donna Blocker of Yemassee, Johnny Hadwin of Yemassee, Salina Hadwin of Yemassee, Marvin Hadwin of Yemassee, Michael Hadwin of Yemassee; and a special care giver, Crystal Mincey of Yemassee; two brothers, Robert Hadwin of Walterboro and Larry Hadwin of Bunlevel, North Carolina; two sisters, Doris Duffie of Mount Pleasant and Meriam Gibson of Varnville. There are sixteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren that also survive. He was preceded in death by two sisters and one great-grandchild. Flowers will be accepted at the residence or the family has suggested that memorial contributions be directed in his memory to: Palmetto Health Hospice, P.O. Box 1123 Bamberg, SC 29003.
