Flora Forbes
LAYTON – Mrs. Flora Carolyn Ray Forbes, 73, of Layton, died yesterday at the home of a
daughter, Mrs. Clyde Olsen, 2855 Keisel Ave., after an illness of one month.
Mrs. Forbes was an active member of the LDS Church and was a member of the Layton Third Ward. She had resided in Layton since 18 years of age.
She was born Oct. 23, 1879, in Coalville, a daughter of John and Ann Alford Ray. She lived in Coalville for several days and then moved to South Weber for a short time.
On March 25, 1897, she was married to Thomas G. Forbes in Salt Lake City. Mr. Forbes died March 18, 1923.
Surviving are the following sons and daughters: Ray J. Forbes, Layton; Elden T. Forbes, Clearfield; Mrs. Clyde (Vera) Olsen, Mrs. Orval (Laveta) Deeter, Mrs. Harton (Degertha) Hess, Mrs. James (Waneta) Ball, Ogden; Mrs. Jack (Rhea) Butler, Willard; 15 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one brother Samuel Ray, Salt Lake City.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. in the LDS Layton Third Ward, Bishop Clyde B. Adams officiating.
Friends may call at Lindquist and Sons Colonial Funeral Chapel 3408 Washington Blvd., tomorrow from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday in the Relief Society Room of the Layton Ward from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Interment will be in Kaysville-Layton Memorial Park.
