Rose D. Archibald, 84, of Columbus, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital surrounded by family.

Rose was born June 7, 1926 in Torrington, Conn. to the late Frederick and Rose (Palme) Dalzell.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Charles Keith Archibald. They were married October 18, 1947, in Mt. Vernon, NY. in a double wedding with her twin sister Betty.

She retired after 28 years with The McElroy-Minister Insurance Co., Columbus, OH. Rose was a dedicated member of Calvin Presbyterian Church, where she was active since 1967.

Rose was a loving and faithful wife of a US Navy 1st Class Torpedoman aboard the USS Hunt and USS Dixie in the Pacific during WWII. She enjoyed traveling with her husband around the United States and spending time with family and friends instilling compassion and love.

Rose is survived by her twin sister, Betty Bellesheim of NJ; her brother, Frederick Dalzell of Oregon; a sister-in-law, Lelia Eichenberger of Reynoldsburg; numerous nieces and nephews, whom she considered them as her own daughters and sons, and numerous great-nieces and great- nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Charles Keith, a brother-in-law Nelson Bellesheim, a sister-in-law Peggy Dalzell, and great-niece Leslie Whiteman.

Funeral service held Saturday, July 17, 2010 at KAUBER-SAMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 289 S. Main Street, Pataskala, OH. with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
