Donald "Don" Duane Wilson, son of Elmer and Elizabeth "Lizzie" (Wolf) Wilson, was born on July 11, 1905, at Red Cloud, Nebraska, and died at St. John's hospital in Rapid City, S. D. on Thursday, June 6, 1963. Don was 57 years old

His childhood and youth were spent at Red Cloud and it was there that he was united in marriage to Freda Holcomb Sutton on May 8, 1929. God sent to bless this union two sons, Roger Duane of Ogallala and Jack Donald of Gordon.

Besides his wife and two sons, Donald is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Fay (Ethel) Palmer, Red Cloud and Mrs. William (Josephine) Weesner, Indianapolis, Ind.; two grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. His sister Ruth Cole died in 1960.

For the past 22 years he maintained his family in Gordon. At the time of his death he was district manager for the Woodmen Accident and Life Insurance company of Lincoln. In this position he served his community well, helping folks prepare for the difficult times of life.

He was a life member of the Nebraska State Volunteer Fireman's association, Gordon Chamber of Commerce and the Elks.

Services were held on Monday, June 10, at 10:00 a.m. from the First Methodist church at Gordon with the Rev. Harvey C. Gabel officiating and on Tuesday, June 11, at Red Cloud with the Rev. John Mikkelsen officiating. Burial was in the Red Cloud cemetery.

Pallbearers at Gordon were Paul Shuster, Floyd Webster, Willard Hess Jr., Archie Secrest, Milbourne Mills, Clarence Thompson.

Funeral services were held at the Simonson Chapel in Red Cloud on Tuesday, June 11th, with Rev. John Mikkelsen assisted by Rev. Ellsworth Hughes officiating.

Organ music was played by Mrs. Sylvia Beams.

Pallbearers were: Carl Gass, Sid Tobler, Berdon Zeiss, Alf McCall, Burdett Eldred and Lloyd Sibert.

Interment was in the Red Cloud cemetery.
