Lavon had lived here most of her life. She was a member of the Brittains Creek Missionary Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for 14 years, and was well known for her beautiful yard.

Preceded in death by her husband, James W. Duff; her parents, Isaac Ford and Sarah Emily Ford; two brothers, Edd and Theodore Ford; two sisters, Edna Luttrell and Lorene Kidd; and one grandson, Wayne Isaac Duff, II.

Survivors include three children, James Bruce Duff and wife, Linda, Louisville; Wayne Duff and wife, Cindy, New Tazewell; and Deraya “Dee Dee“ Duff of Ages; and one sister, Delphene Spangler, Knoxville.

Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Maverick Ulbrich; Skylar Blankenship; Destiny Duff; Georgia Lavone Duff; Stacy Duff Kron and husband, Michael, Jr.; James B. Duff, Jr. and wife, Pamela Vanetta Duff; Joanna Duff and James Duff and wife, Heather; 14 great-grandchildren, Wyatt Mason Blankenship, Kody Howard Kendall, Connor Sharrard, Jaxson Kron, Josh Brown, Jeremy Brown, Rebecca Brown, Hannah Howard, James Howard, Jr., Aliyah Howard, Adrianna Howard, Sophia Duff, Callie Duff and Gracie Duff; two great-great-grandchildren, Kayden Howard Kendall, and Makenna Duff; special friends, Skip and Wanda Eldridge, Mark “Crow” Howard, April Broughton, Don and Maryann Cox and her church family.
