Kathryn Evelyn (Mumma) Blottenberger Houck, 95, of Lower Swatara Twp. and formerly of Highspire passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at the Middletown Home where she resided since September of 2010.
She was born in Piketown, PA on August 15, 1918 to Joseph E and Kathryn M. (Moyer) Mumma.
Kathryn was a graduate of Lower Paxton High School Class of 1936, a member of St Peter's Lutheran Church, Highspire and was a former member of Red Rose Rebecca Lodge in Middletown.
Survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Carol (Blottenberger) and Bill Sweigert; grandchildren, Chuck (Charles) Sweigert and his wife Nadine of Shermansdale, Cathy (Sweigert) Marshbank of Lower Swatara Twp; great-grandsons, Zach, James and Hunter Marshbank and Jordan Smith; step-great-granddaughter, Maddison Meyer; one sister and brother-in-law, Ruth (Mumma) and Nelson Maus of Enola. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews, several great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her constant companion since 2000, her Yorkie, Mickey.
Kathryn was the widow of Charles (Porky) Blottenberger (1975) and Edward W. Houck (2000) and was preceded in death by her sister, Mary (Mumma) Gingrich and her husband Earl and her brother, Marlin (Slim) Mumma and his wife Marge.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 12:00 Noon in the K.M. Knight Funeral Home, 31 Second Street, Highspire, PA. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Lower Paxton Township. A viewing will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. until time of services in the funeral home.
