Earl F. Schumacher, 40, veteran of World War II and an employe of the Hough Shade corporation for 21 years, died at 4:40 p.m. Thursday in the home of his brother, Lester G. Shumacher, Brodhead, route 3. He suffered a heart attack on Christmas day.
Mr. Schumacher was inducted at Fort Sheridan Sept. 1, 1942, and until Sept. 12, 1945, served in the military police at Camp White, Ore., He was discharged at Camp Beale, Calif.
Earl F. Schumacher was born in Janesville July 24, 1907, son of Frederick and Evelyn [Evaline] Kettle Schumacher. He attended grade and high schools in Janesville, and was a member of Trinity Episcopal church and the American Legion.
Surviving are four brothers, Robert of Whitewater, Frederick and Cornelius, both of Milton, route 3, and Lester, of Brodhead, route 3; two sisters, Mrs. George Avery, Janesville, and Mrs. Raymond S. Estes, Evansville; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be conducted by the Very Rev. Henry W. Roth, Trinity Episcopal church, at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Overton funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday night. The American Legion will conduct services at the grave.
