On January 5, 2014, our loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, Donna Lois Albrand Shingleton, passed away at the age of eighty-five, surrounded by her family.

Donna was born May 17, 1928 to Earl Kent Albrand and Nesta Rosa Seare. She was the oldest of four children. She lived her entire life in the Salt Lake Valley.

Donna graduated from West High, where she met her sweetheart, Lorin Shingleton. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on November 25, 1946. They were the proud parents of four children.

Donna was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many calling through the years. She served in the Young Women, Relief Society, and Primary, as a faithful visiting teacher, and the best score keeper of hundreds of basketball games in the Rose Park Stake gym. She loved to watch ballgames (Go Jazz!), especially when she was watching one of her children or grandchildren play.

She worked at ZCMI, the Telephone Company, and twenty-six years at the Utah State Fair, a job she looked forward to each year.

Donna's greatest pride and joy was her family. She and dad attended numerous weddings, baby blessings, baptisms, missionary farewells, birthdays, ballgames, dance recitals, music recitals, and of course the many camping trips with family and friends. One of the last things she said was, "Isn't that what family is all about." We are so grateful for her love, support, and wonderful example. She truly showed us how to endure to the end.

Donna is survived by her loving husband of sixty-seven years, Lorin; children: Larry (Barbara), Syracuse; Linda (Larry) Britton, Bountiful; Brent (Myken), Bountiful; and Becky, Salt Lake City. They are the proud grandparents of fourteen grandchildren and thirty-six great-grandchildren (four who are now serving missions); brother, Kent Albrand; sisters, Carol Lloyd and Janice (Tom) Jones; and sister-in-law, Lois Owen. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law, Stacey Shingleton; brother-in-law, Reid Lloyd; and sister-in law, Jean Albrand.

A viewing will be held in the Rose Park Stake Center (East Side), 760 North 1200 West, Salt Lake City, Utah, on Wednesday January 8, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 11:00 a.m., with a viewing from 10:00 to 10:50 a.m. in the Rose Park Stake Center (same address).
Interment at the Bountiful Memorial Park, 2224 South 200 West, Bountiful.
