Delores E. Kappell, 92, Kaukauna, passed away, Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born March 21, 1916, to the late Anton and Mary (Wolfinger) Vander Loop in Dundas, on the family farm and had been a resident of Kaukauna for over 60 years. On Oct. 5, 1939, Delores married Sylvester Kappell at St. Francis Catholic Church, Hollandtown. She enjoyed watercolor painting, gardening, crocheting, socializing and playing cards with friends. Delores was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church and it's choir, Catholic Knights, the Altar Society and volunteered with Meals on Wheels.

She is survived by her seven children, Sister Karen Kappell, Susan (James) Nelson, Ronald (Linda) Kappell, Jill (Michael) Huss, Allen Kappell, Mary Ann (David) Nagan & Daniel (Kim) Kappell; 19 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a son-in-law, Allen Wihksne; a daughter-in-law, Donna Kappell.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sylvester Kappell, on Oct. 23, 1988; a son, David Kappell, on Aug. 3, 1994; a daughter, Joanne Wihksne, on Jan. 2, 1998; and 11 siblings.

The Mass of the Resurrection for Delores will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008, at St. Katharine Drexel (St. Mary site) 119 West Seventh Street, Kaukauna, with Father Jerry Pastors officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Kaukauna.
