Graduated from Redfield High School and Northern State Teachers College. She taught school in several country schools.
Married Barton Young October 19, 1950 at Webster. They farmed in Spink County, moved to Spearfish, and moved back to Redfield. She worked at SDDC-Redfield as a dorm parent in 1965 until she retired in 1991.
Midge is survived by four sons and two daughters, fifteen grandchildren and twenty-nine great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. She is also survived by one brother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Barton in August of 2010; two brothers: Chuck Badger and Bud Badger; three sisters: Armenta Harry, Joyce Baughman and Marilyn Phillips.
