Loretta C. Krenz, 95, a resident of Willowpark, New Holstein and formerly of Kiel died Saturday evening January 4, 2014 at Calumet Medical Center. She is the former Loretta Anhalt, born April 13, 1918 in the Town of Eaton, daughter of the late Clemens & Alma (Gast) Anhalt. On November 30, 1934 she was united in marriage to Frank P. Johst at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Kiel. Together Loretta and Frank farmed in the Town of Schleswig. Frank preceded her in death on December 2, 1974. Loretta was later united in marriage to Walter Krenz on May 21, 1977 and he preceded her in death on June 1, 1990. Loretta had been employed at the Kiel Veterinary Clinic as a receptionist for more than 50 years until her retirement. She was a lifelong member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church where she also was a longtime member of the Christian Women serving a term as president. Loretta was the last surviving member of the Swampedge Homemakers Group. She was also an active member of the Kiel Senior Center. More than anything else, Loretta had a great love for her entire family and cherished the time she could spend with them. Survivors include two daughters, Shirley (Roland) Keuler, Milwaukee, Lorna (Norris) Bussie, Two Rivers, a son, Richard Krenz, Glendale AZ, and her grandchildren, Sue (Lindsey) Wallin, Cathy (Tim) Steding, Dave (Tina) Keuler, Carolyn (Tod) Noltemeyer, Brian (Jennifer) Keuler, Bobbi (Todd) Forman, Karl (Jackie) Freitag, and Cathy (Michael) Alt. She is further survived by 27 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren and two sisters-in-law, Sylvia Anhalt and Hanna Anhalt. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, an infant daughter, Barbara Johst, a son-in-law, Ludwig Freitag, three brothers, two sisters and a special friend, Charles Sullivan. Funeral Mass for Loretta will be celebrated on Wednesday January 8, 2014 at 11:30am at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church (413 Fremont St. Kiel). Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the church from 10:00am until 11:15am when there will be brief family rites. In lieu of flowers, memorials to SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church would be appreciated. Loretta's family would like to express a very heartfelt thank you to all the nurses and staff at Calumet Medical Center and the staff at Willowpark Residence for the care and compassion shown to Loretta. They would also like to thank all her neighbors, friends and the many co-workers at the Kiel Veterinary Clinic who helped her in so many ways.
