Funeral services for Betty Sue Asher, 79, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 10, 2014, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Wills Point with Rev. Lonnie Cunigan officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Wills Point under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.

She passed away early Saturday morning, January 4, 2014, in Forney.

Betty was born May 24, 1934, in Carthage, Texas, the daughter of Bishop Webber, Sr. and Nan Webber.

She was raised in Wills Point and graduated from Cartwright High School in Wills Point. On August 24, 1956, she married Billy Asher in Wills Point. Betty retired from Malouf Manufacturing Company in Wills Point, where she was a seamstress. She enjoyed playing sports, especially basketball, board games, bingo and fishing. Betty was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Wills Point where she was a member of the choir, Mission Society and a Deaconess.

Preceded in death by her parents, Bishop Webber, Sr. and Nan Webber; husband, Billy Asher, Sr.; three brothers, William B. Webber, Jim Webber and John L. Webber and four sisters, Erma Lee Smith, Annie Bell Tucker, Claudia Sudds and Inez Sledge.

Betty is survived by two sons, Billy Mack Asher, of Terrell and Bobby Ray Asher & wife, Lisa, of Terrell; daughter, Peggy Cunigan & husband, Rev. Lonnie, of Wills Point; brother, Bishop Webber, Jr., of Wills Point; seven grandchildren, Meosha Asher, Rhonda Asher, Christin Asher, Andre Smith, Quinton Cunigan, Christopher Cunigan and Steven Cunigan and nine great-grandchildren, Tyler White, Devin Asher, Asher Kennedy, Mason Asher, Jaylen Asher, Christopher Cunigan, Jr., Kennedy Cunigan, Madison Cunigan and Marcus Cunigan.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m. with a Wake following at 7:00 p.m.
