Marie Louise Trigg Crump, 100, died peacefully at Trezevant's Allen Morgan Health and Rehab Center on January 4, 2013, surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Millington Crump, Jr., and daughters, Marie Crump and Sally Crump Byrnes (Ronnie). She was predeceased by her parents, W. W. Trigg and Marie Coulon Trigg, her brothers, W. W. Trigg, Jr. and Fisher Trigg, and sisters, Roder Trigg Murphy (Francis) and Ernest Trigg. A lifelong Memphian, Marie Louise graduated from The Hutchison School and attended Southwestern at Memphis (Rhodes College). Marie Louise's positive attitude was contagious. Affectionately known as Baba to family and friends, she loved the outdoors and found great peace and pleasure in her long walks in the country and tending to her zinnia and vegetable gardens. She was an avid tennis player and an accomplished artist. Marie Louise was a member of Second Presbyterian Church, Memphis Garden Club, Memphis Country Club, and the Junior League of Memphis. A devoted mother and grandmother, Marie Louise is survived by her son, Frank Millington Crump III (Sherrill) of Memphis, and daughters Marie Louise Morgan (Tim) of Stamford, CT, Roder Macaulay (Jason) of Highlands, NC, and Lela Smith (Jim) of Memphis, as well as thirteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. After a private burial at Elmwood Cemetery, the family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 7 at 10 a.m. in the Salmon Room of Second Presbyterian Church. A Memorial Service celebrating her life will commence at 11 a.m. in the Second Presbyterian Church Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent either to MIFA, Dixon Gallery & Gardens, or to a charity of donor's choice.
