Mr. Lund was an automobile mechanic by profession and was expert in his trade. He joined the Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church Dec. 4, 1921, and remained a faithful member until death.
Mr. Lund had been in failing health since 1946 and passed away suddenly Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 23, following a stroke at his home in Middleton. He was 56 years and four months old at the time of his death.
Mr. Lund is survived by his wife; three sisters, Mrs. Ida Severson, McFarland; Mrs. Lester Opsal, Waunakee; and Mrs. Elmer Schuetz, Madison; three brothers, Arthur, Madison; Obert, Mr. Horeb; and Marvin, Waunakee. A daughter Lily Mae, passed away Feb 9, 1937, Both of his parents died in 1946 and a sister, Ruby, Mrs. Merle Heydon, preceeded him in death in 1942.
His funeral took place Saturday, Oct. 27, at 2 o'clock from the Gesme Funeral Home and at 2:30 p.m. from the Mr. Horeb Lutheran Church. His pastor, the Rev. E.R.Anderson, officiated. Burial was made in the local cemetery. Mrs. John Engeseth was the soloist accompanied by F.H. Hanneman at the organ. Many in memoriam gifts were presented in memory of the departed. The pallbearers were Melvin, Milo, Norman and Alvie Lund, Darwin Jordee and Ed Thompson.
