Her parents moved to North Carolina from Mecklenburg County, Virginia about 1798 – 1799. Her parental ancestors immigrated to the American Colonies from England prior to the Revolutionary War.
She was born about 1814 and although the exact date of her death is not known, it is known that her will was dated 29 August 1864 and was probated in November 1864.
