Cletus was married about 1952 to Helen Dolores (Payne) Millay whose first husband John Thomas Millay died in 1951. Helen and John had a son John Thomas Millay Jr in 1950; he is mentioned in Cletus' obituary. Helen and Cletus had at least six children, all born in Owensboro, KY:

Donnie Jerell (1961-2006)CLETUS PAUL HOCKMAN, 86, of Shepherdstown, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord on June 20, 2016. He was born Jan. 17, 1930, in Shepherdstown, the son of Paul M. and Eva Hilliard Hockman.

A longtime resident of Shepherdstown, Cletus retired from General Motors after 27 years of service, being a member of UAW Local 1590. He was a veteran, having served in the Korean War with the 101st Airborne Division "Screaming Eagles." He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and Moose Lodge. He was a devoted member of St. James Catholic Church in Charles Town, WV, and St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hagerstown, Md.

Cletus is survived by his children, John "Thomas" Millay; Michael D. Hockman; Billy P. Hockman; and James G. Hockman; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Michael of Hedgesville; and brothers, Jerry C. Hockman of Shenandoah Junction, W.Va., and Floyd L. "Pete" Hockman of Shepherdstown.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Dolores Payne Hockman; two sons, Jackie L. Hockman and Donnie J. Hockman; an infant daughter, Paula Ann; and sister, Helen E. Hockman.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. James Catholic Church. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Harpers Ferry. Arrangements by Brown Funeral Home.
