burg, Iowa on February 22, 1921 to Bruce and Mabel Trimble
Zimmerman. She had three brothers, Elmer, Milton and
George and a sister Cleophia. She married Oscar Jager and
had four children, Calvin, Loretta, Rollie and Vernon.
She lived in South Dakota all her life moving to the
Pierre/Ft. Pierre area in 1953. She began working as a gro-
cery checker at Mannings Super Valu, later working at Mont-
gomery Wards, Downes Electric, Ace Hardware, Vilas Drug
Store and Value Village. At one time she owned her own busi-
ness.
In 1985 she retired and moved to Midtown Apartments
where she suffered a massive stroke.
Arlene was active in her Church Circle, Super Senior Club
and won several honors in the City Olympics. She loved to
crochet and play cards. She was a very happy, caring, loving
and sharing individual. She enjoyed life.
Surviving her are one daughter; one son; 11 grandchildren;
one brother and sister-inlaw; one sister and many, many rela-
tives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Oscar Jager; two sons,
