Services for Gregg W. Winters, 32, 2708 Tacoma Ave., will be at 1 p.m. Friday in High Street United Methodist Church. Entombment will be in Gardens of Memory Mausoleum. Calling will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Parson Mortuary-Adams Chapel and an hour before services Friday at the church.

A Muncie patrolman, he died Tuesday in Methodist Hosptial, Indianapolis, from injuries suffered in an on-duty shooting incident on Dec. 28.

A lifelong resident of Muncie, he attended Muncie schools, graduating from Southside High School in 1976. He had worked for Wise's Food Market and Motion Industries before joining the Muncie Police Department in 1986. He graduated from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in 1987.

He attended Shawnee Heights Baptist Church and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.

Survivors include his wife, Molly Ann Keith Winters; two sons, Kyle and Brock Winters, at home; his parents, Ezra "Zeke" and Beverly Snyder Winters, Muncie; two brothers, Terry Winters, Muncie, and Steve Winters, Chatsworth, Calif.; his grandmother, Evelyn Snyder, Muncie; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wendell and Effie Keith, Phillispburg, Ohio; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorials may be sent to the Gregg Winters Special Benefit Fund, the Delaware County Youth Opportunity Center or the Muncie PAL Club.
