Mary Bland Absher, 82, Fairplay Road, Columbia, died Friday, March 10, 1989, at 7:25 p.m. at the Taylor County Hospital after an illness. She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Katie Claycomb Bland of Taylor County. Mrs. Absher is survived by her husband, Robert Absher, Columbia; one sister, Nellie Campbell, Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews. She was a retired teacher, having taught in the Adair, Taylor and Hardin County school systems. She attended the Trinity United Methodist Church. The funeral was Sunday, March 12, at 2 p.m. at the Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Davenport and Bro. John L. Coomer officiating. Interment was in the Brookside Cemetery, Campbellsville. Pallbearers were J. T. Bland, Steve Campbell, Delphus Frankum, David Parsons, Lee Sisk, and Dudley Wright.
