Son of Ellery Wood Aldrich (1816-1888)*incorrectly identified as Edwin on Charles' death certificate* and Almira Finch (1820-1842). Charles was born October 28, 1842 at Otsego, Michigan.

Charles married Lucinda Fields November 27, 1866 at Grant County, Oregon. They had 8 children: Arvesta Allace (married name Olney, 1869-1941), Nephi Aldrich (1872-1928), Alvira Isabell (married name Olney, 1876-1950), Elroy Francis Aldrich (1879-1949), Joseph Carlos Aldrich (1880-1948), William Edwin (1883-1952), May Arebel (married name Klaus, 1889-1951) and Henry Nelson Aldrich (1891-1976).

Charles died October 21, 1918 at Nez Perce, Idaho. He was preceded in death by both parents and 4 half-siblings from his father's 4th marriage to Cynthia Sweet. Survivors at the time of death included his wife Lucinda, 9 half-siblings (from the marriage of Ellery & Cynthia), all 8 of his children, and 29+ grandchildren.
