Ellen Wisdom, long time resident of the Weippe area, passed away Friday, Sept. 16, 2011 at Providence's St. Mary's Medical Center in Walla Walla, WA, with her children at her side. She was 79.
She was born Aug. 10, 1932 to Jess and Marie Stout in Twin Falls.
Ellen married Glen Jones Aug. 7, 1947. They had six children. This marriage later ended in divorce. She married Jake Wisdom June 1977. She became widowed December 1991.
She was a member of the Rebecca's Lodge in Weippe serving as Noble Grand and Chaplin in 1990. She was nominated and received the Decoration of Chivalry by her sisters of the Rebecca's.
Ellen worked as a school bus driver for the Weippe School District. She also worked with children with learning disabilities. She assisted in the dietary program for the first kindergarten class in Weippe.
Ellen is survived by 11 children and spouses, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, which she loved [survivors names omitted].
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Marie Stout and two children, Debbie Jones and Arthur Jones Jr.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, Sept. 24 at 11 a.m. at Pine Hills Funeral Chapel in Orofino.
