BILLIE JEAN BLANKINSHIP, 85, of Paris, died at 2:03 PM, Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Spring Lake Memory Care. A funeral service is set for 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 5, 2014 in the chapel of Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home with visitation to follow. Stanley Johnson will officiate. Private burial will be in Rockford Cemetery. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.

Billie was born October 9, 1928 in Vernon, Texas to Bill and Molly Jamar. She attended Paris High School. She married Hack Blankinship in Paris in 1947 and worked as a bookkeeper more than thirty years in the family business. She was active in the Baptist Church. She fished, bowled, painted and traveled with her sisters and mother.

She was preceded in death by her sister Pauline (Sis) Carter.

She is survived by her husband; one son, Jim Blankinship and wife, Anne of Spring Branch, Texas; two grandchildren, Houston Blankinship and wife, Katy and their children Brooke and Cooper of Denver, Colorado and Laura Hallam and husband, Nick and their children Maisie and Marin of New Braunfels, Texas; two sisters, Johnnie Jo "Tink" Russo and Mary Hilyer; and two brothers, Robert and Jack Jamar, all of Paris.
