Homemaker, former bookkeeper
Native Staten Islander Elizabeth Myra Adamo, 76, of Spring Lake Heights, N.J., a homemaker and former bookkeeper, died Wednesday of breast cancer at her winter home in Boynton Beach, Fla.
Born Elizabeth Myra Parker in West Brighton, she moved to Lighthouse Hill when she was 21 years old and lived there until relocating to Spring Lake Heights 20 years ago.
Mrs. Adamo worked as a bookkeeper for the former Dan River Mills textile company in Manhattan for about 10 years in the late 1940s and early 1950s.
She was a graduate of Curtis High School.
Mrs. Adamo enjoyed going to the beach and playing with her grandchildren.
Her husband of 48 years, Vincent, died in 1996.
Surviving are her two sons, Gregory and Vincent; her daughter, Laura Tarasewich, and eight grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Monday at noon in the O'Brien Funeral Home, Wall, N.J. Burial will follow in St. Anne's Cemetery, Wall.
