Laura Chuck Owyang, born Tuesday, January 16th, 1973 in San Francisco, California; Entered into rest on Saturday, November 30th, 2013 in Castro Valley, California. Age 40 years.
Laura's greatest achievement was receiving her Master's degree at San Francisco State Universary in Biomedical Laboratory Science. She worked very hard, and I am very proud of my wife, going to work full-time at Genetech and school. Having our daughter is the best thing to happen to us. Laura loved her alot. In her free time, she would spend time with family; go visit her parents in S.F., play with our nieces and nephew, and go shopping with her sister, Clara. At home, she would teach Sophia her alphabet, numbers and read books to her. Sophia loves reading books and playing Lego Friends with mommy. When not playing with Sophia, she would surf the Internet, watching Korean drama, playing soduku and candy crush on the iPad. Farmer's Market was one of her places to shop for fruit and vegetables. It is fresh... and, when it came to eating, she loved Korean food, sushi and Vietnamese. During the summer, Laura would go fishing with family at Lake Sonoma for Largemouth Bass. Her favorite fish was catching Crappie and Bluegill. Hobbies included knitting, jewelry making and flower arrangments. She loved to watch The Original Vampire Diaries and The Big Bang Theory, etc... Laura has been to Hawaii, Oahu, Kauai, Puerto Vallarta, Vancover, Canada, and our favorite, Bora Bora, Tahiti and Moorea.
A Memorial Service for Laura was held on Friday, December 13, 2013, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am, at Chapel of the Chimes Reflection Chapel, 32992 Mission Blvd, Hayward, CA 94544. Inurnment followed the memorial service, at Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park, adjacent to the funeral home.
