Life's Work/Service/Interests: David was born July 27, 1943, at home in Marshall, Texas. He graduated from Marshall High School; married Andrea Marie Lee in the Los Angeles LDS Temple June 4, 1966, then graduated from Brigham Young University. He worked at Deseret News for 17 years where he won many awards as a writer and photographer. He served as Director of Leadership at the Covey Leadership Center, where he loved the worldwide challenge of giving new perspective to Fortune Five Hundred Companies. He also started the Education, Community, and Health Divisions. David loved spreading the "Good News" and served willingly and gratefully many years in his beloved Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a teacher, scout master, worked with the youth, served several times as bishop's counselor and his favorite: as bishop of the Edgemont Utah 18th Singles Ward. As a young man, he served in the North Central States Mission comprising Minnesota, South Dakota, and Manitoba, Canada. As a senior with his wife, he served in the China Hong Kong Misson, three summers in the Ohio Cleveland Mission at the Historic Kirtland Visitors' Center, at the American Fork LDS Employment Center, and in the Mount Timpanogos Temple. He also volunteered with his wife at Southern Virginia University as the campus photographer. David loved everybody; his special talent was finding and encouraging the highest and best in others. He loved all the Lord's children and left behind a legacy of kindness, understanding, and love. David Anthony Conley passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones December 31, 2013, at the American Fork Hospital. He was 70 years old.
Survived By: His wife, Andrea of Pleasant Grove, Utah; daughters: Deborah (Scott Curtis) of Littlefield, Arizona; Rebecca (Kent Morris) of West Jordan, Utah; Kimberly (Dan Lawyer) of Pleasant Grove, Utah; and Bonnie (Steven Oman) of Cary, North Carolina; in-laws, Thelma and Elwyn Reeder of Washington, Utah; many wonderful brothers-in law and sisters-in law, nieces, nephews, and was so very proud of his 16 terrific grandchildren.
