Elroy A. "Roy" Hackmann, 64, of St. Charles, died Friday (Feb. 26, 1993) at St. Joseph Health Center, apparently after suffering a heart attack.
For the past 10 years, he worked at the Federal Records Center in St. Louis. Previously, he was an air-traffic controller. Mr. Hackmann also was a veteran of the Navy and the Air Force.
Among survivors are his wife, Ruby Hackmann; two daughters, Deborah Kay Malle of Oakville and Beth Beck of St. Peters; a son, Keith A. Hackmann of Wichita, Kan.; seven stepsons, Warren Blair of High Point, N.C., Albert Blair of Roxana, Ill., John Blair of Whittier, Calif., Ellis Blair of Potosi, James Blair and Bryant Blair, both of St. Charles, and Robert Blair of Overland; three stepdaughters, Betty-Ellen Crum and Carolyn Ann Gilbert, both of St. Charles, and Shirley Mae McCampbell of Overland; two sisters, Bernice Warmann and Laverne Plackemeier, both of St. Charles; seven grandchildren, 25 step-grandchildren, one great-grandchild and four step-great-grandchildren.
